"JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli warplanes will continue to overfly Lebanon despite protests from the United Nations and Beirut, an Israeli minister told public radio.
"They can protest for as long as they like. Our reconaissance flights will continue," deputy defense minister Ephraim Sneh said in response to a question about the fierce international criticism of the flights.
His comments come a day after the UN and France, which commands the UN peacekeeping force overseeing a truce that ended this summer's war between the Jewish state and the Hezbollah Shiite militia, called on Israel to halt the overflights which they said were a violation of the ceasefire.
On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes carried out intensive mock air raids at low altitude over Beirut and south Lebanon…."
You know, I can remember a time when the bush was all het up about this country or that defying the UN and the international community. In fact, if I remember correctly, let’s see, Iraq comes to mind. Iran, too. In fact, the bushies complained just today, that Iran was “saber-rattling” by launching a long-range missle. Mind you, now, that the US has more than one carrier strike force off the coast of Iran involved in “interdiction” exercises.
So, my question today is, how come the bush hasn’t added his voice to those of other countries protesting these overflights? You gotta figure that’s “saber-rattling”, if anything is. Is he waiting for one of these flights to be shot at, so the murderous Israel can launch another round of carnage? And then will he and the rice cake simper that “Israel has a right to defend itself”?
You don’t think…no, that can’t be right. Our little georgie’s not scared of the israelis, is he? I mean, after all, he is a teeny weenied, he-man cowboy from Andover that’s afraid of horses. So, we know he’s brave. After all, isn’t he the one who said “Bring ‘em on” while he was a few thousand miles from danger? I tell you, that’s guts.
Let’s face it, folks. Can we really afford a rubber-stamp Congress anymore? We’re in debt up to our ass. People are dying right and left in Iraq, and the bush just doesn’t have a plan to put any sort of an end to it, and, since it’s really just an echo for the bush, neither does Congress. I’ll bet that they don’t even have a clue about what’s going on there. Cause everything is such a fucking secret. The climate’s close to tipping, health costs are unaffordable, and there ain’t a whole lot of good jobs left. Corporations are abandoning their workers and retirees, and the poor are getting poorer. And all the bush can talk about are tax cuts. And where has the republican Congress been? “Slippin’ the cash into the pocket”, is what.
So. Had enough?
